Pretty Baby Sister

Baby McKenzie is irrestible! The little sister of my daughter's friend is welcome in front of my camera lens anytime...I couldn't stop taking her pictures. I am thrilled to debut my fun new chair & bench--the coloring in McKenzie's skin was the perfect compliment to the colors in these fabrics.

Extra! Extra! Read All About It!

I am thrilled and extrememly blessed to have been interviewed for an article featured in the Saturday Cape Life section of the News-Press! Click here to view: article

Out of the seven photos I submitted, five were featured, and I had no idea which ones they would be until I opened up the newspaper. Three of the five can be seen in the on-line version of Cape Life. I couldn't believe how much coverage they gave me on the front section of Arts & Entertainment! Thank you to Alex, Callee, Tabatha (for Ashlyn), Sam (for Katie & Kinsey), and Alex & Julie for allowing me to use your photos on my blog, website and now the newspaper. Your personal copies will be mailed out on Monday! woo-hoo!

Lindsay and her Little Black Dress

Ms. Lindsay...the gorgeous! You would never know from these shots that it was ridiculously hot, sticky & humid. When I say humid, I mean I felt like I was swimming. While my hair puffed out to a frizzy oblivian, Linds stayed calm & collected...and allowed me to capture these shots that don't reveal a hint of discomfort. The camera loves her!

The Cobbler's kids have no shoes...

I love the old saying about the Cobbler's kids who have no shoes...perhaps his kids wouldn't let him measure their feet?

Here is what happens when I whip out my camera at home:

So, now there is no wonder as to why I don't have beautifully framed and matted photos covering the walls of my home! The photographer's kids have no pictures. Because they refuse to pose!

So...I resorted to snapping this shot of my freshly painted toenails. I broke down and bought black nail polish because as Dr. Evil would say, "I'm hip, I'm cool."

I wonder if the Cobbler himself had plenty of shoes?

Two posts in one day...

...because I have loved this shot since the moment I captured it...and because the owner of those fabulous red shoes said I could...and because I found some new textures that were so fun, I couldn't help myself!

A couple of baby templates...and a Christmas Card!

Here we have two examples of baby announcements...thanks to two fabulous designers who "paid it forward" over at the Pay It Forward blog. Thank you, Jenica at Lemondrops Photography and Lindsay Docherty Photography--I am thrilled to offer these to my clients!
Here is a great announcement that can be used for baby girls or boys.

This annoucement is also available in pink.

A Christmas Card...it's about that time to start booking family sessions with photo cards in mind. Here is an example of a 5x7 card...thanks to LCH Designs for this fabulous template.

If I had another baby...

I would buy all this stuff! When I see great products from fellow small business owners, I get really excited and love to spread the word...so, here is what I am excited about these days:

This birdy onesie is so "me", that I would love a T-shirt version for myself!

I have seen and felt this diaper bag--the stitching is flawless, the canvas is durable and the pattern, well...who can resist polka dots? These are two different bags here, just in case you were wondering. The brown version has polka dot handles!

And now, the onesie that I want to stock up on for baby shower gifts:

To see more adorable baby clothes, accessories, diaper bags, and other creative must-haves for babies, check out Stacey's website--you will get lost in her creativity. She inspires me!

I apologize for the confusion and since you are reading this, I guess you found the right place. Phew, that was a sticky situation.

Four boys a beautiful girl...

A few family pictures from one of my recent mini sessions...they were full of laughter and joy that continues to make me smile.

Butterscotch Coconut Cookies
1 1/3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups (9 oz) butterscotch chips

Directions:

Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together, set aside

In a large bowl, using an electric mixer on high speed, cream the butter until fluffy pale yellow. Add sugar and brown sugar and beat very well. Add the egg and vanilla and beat on low speed until completely blended.

Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix on low speed. Add the coconut and butterscotch chips, mixing or stirring only until blended.

Shape the dough into 1 inch balls or drop by rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheets (with parchment paper).

Bake the cookies until golden brown around the edges, about 15 minutes. Cook with cooling rack.

Ben, Julie & a Bun In The Oven

Congratulations to Ben and Julie! What fun and laid back parents these two will be. I am so excited for their new little arrival coming in less than one week. I loved how Ben made Julie laugh during our session and the candid moments I was able to capture because of his sense of humor. They were candid photo pros!
