In one word: fabulous
What a pleasure to photograph the most beautiful baby shower I have ever seen...with quite possibly the most beautiful expecting mom I have ever seen! I am going to have to break this up in to sections, it was just that good.
First, the details. Because they are my favorite, and they are the evidence of how much love and thought were put into this celebration.
Next, the food. It was my kind of food...sushi among other things! I really love to photograph food though this does make me hungry...you may want to grab a snack.
Now for some hugs and smiles...
And some fun games and a lot of laughter:
And finally, some mingling & some presents...
Congratulations, Deidre--and thank you (and Crista!) for letting me be a part of your special day. I can't look at these photos without smiling and remembering the love surrounding you and the laughter that filled the air.

Simple Recipe Sunday
While baking is my first love, I do enjoy cooking--especially when I get my hands on a simple recipe that tastes like it wasn't-so-simple to make! Here is the perfect example:
Chicken topped with Tomatoes & Feta:
Ingredients:
4 Boneless Chicken Breasts
2-3 Tbs Balsamic Vinagrette Dressing
1 tsp Italian Seasoning
Salt & Pepper
1-2 Large Roma Tomatoes
1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
Set oven to broil. Brush both sides of chicken with dressing. Sprinkle both sides with Italian Seasoning and salt & pepper. Place on rack in broiler pan.
Broil 4" from heat, turn once until juice runs clear. Top with tomatoes and cheese. Broil 2-3 minutes. Enjoy!
**I served my chicken with mini bow-tie pasta that I tossed with butter, tomatoes, feta, salt & pepper.
**I didn't measure anything. I just brushed and sprinkled to my heart's content...but the measurements are up there for the folks that feel better when they measure. (I recently crossed over to the non-measuring folks...it feels pretty good on the other side!)
Let me know what you think! Email me at: stacy@mystacymariephoto.com

Romance.
My four year old always brings me flowers. I treasure this loving act every single time he does it (at least once a day). At the risk of being indulgent (as Simon might say), I am going to blog about this romance in my life. It's not like I'm auditioning for American Idol here. My latest bunch of flowers:
My sweet son doesn't just give these to me and forget...he comes back to check on things to make sure they are well taken care of. He feels a little put out if I don't keep track of the flowers, even if that means carrying them all the way home from around the block, while bike-riding. This child is a born romantic combined with a superhero. When he is Superman, I am Lois Lane. When he is Batman, I am Vicki Vale. And when he is Spiderman, I am Mary Jane--and I must be in distress so that he can rescue me.
I love being rescued.
My little sweetheart notices when I wear new earrings, change my toe polish or put on a fresh coat of mascara. He is full of compliments and I must admit, he makes me feel beautiful. Now, I must add a few quirks about this loving little man...things that I wonder if I should worry about. First, whenever I pull my hair up, he demands that I take it down. It used to be playful, but now he is plain irritated and says, "mommy, I told you to keep that clip out of your hair." Next, he prefers skirts to jeans any day. When I wear skirts, he says "I like you in that" with adoring eyes, and affectionate pats. Finally, he likes it when I wear makeup.
So, remembering that he is four years old. Should I be concerned? Will you join me in praying for his future wife NOW?

Pretty Baby Sister
Baby McKenzie is irrestible! The little sister of my daughter's friend is welcome in front of my camera lens anytime...I couldn't stop taking her pictures. I am thrilled to debut my fun new chair & bench--the coloring in McKenzie's skin was the perfect compliment to the colors in these fabrics.

I couldn't believe how much coverage they gave me on the front section of Arts & Entertainment! Thank you to Alex, Callee, Tabatha (for Ashlyn), Sam (for Katie & Kinsey), and Alex & Julie for allowing me to use your photos on my blog, website and now the newspaper. Your personal copies will be mailed out on Monday! woo-hoo!

Lindsay and her Little Black Dress
Ms. Lindsay...the gorgeous! You would never know from these shots that it was ridiculously hot, sticky & humid. When I say humid, I mean I felt like I was swimming. While my hair puffed out to a frizzy oblivian, Linds stayed calm & collected...and allowed me to capture these shots that don't reveal a hint of discomfort. The camera loves her!
