heading to Cambodia!

I am super blessed with an opportunity to serve with World Relief in Cambodia! I am heading out on Sunday with a team consisting of my dear friends Jackie & Steve. We are hoping to reach women and children involved in the sex slave trade as well as human trafficking victims. We will be inviting them to a party where they can learn about the hope and love offered to them by a Savior, Jesus Christ.

Also, we will be teaching a craft to girls already in a safe house, and hearing about the healing in their lives. I can't wait to document our trip with photographs!

We have also made almost 400 prayer bracelets, 200 of which will be given to girls in Cambodia. Each bracelet has a match, one for a girl in Cambodia and one for a prayer partner back here in the States. We are so very excited to let them know that someone is wearing a matching bracelet and is praying for them individually. Here are the 200 going to Cambodia:

If you think of us, please pray...that God would use us for His purpose, and that the captives would be set free.

{a natural}

Chandler is not only a natural beauty, she was a natural in front of the camera! So comfortable and confident with her smiles, her poses and her moody look. I think I must have said "whoa!" and "wow!" and "you go, girl!" more than a few times from behind my lens.

See what I mean? Gorgeous! Those eyes!

Those long lens...she is a super model.

Chandler, I wish I could pull that outfit off. I saw a sign on "What not to Wear" that read: "No Mini Skirts After 35." Thank the good Lord that I have a few more years before hitting 35, but these rules...they kill me.

This next photo is SO 'American Eagle' right now. Have you seen the AE store fronts lately with the collage of vintage-y photos? This photo belongs up there:

ps. I belong on their photography set (I wish!)

Finally, a little black dress:

Chandler, please remember me when you are famous. Thank you.

it's wedding wednesday!

spotlight on: shoes (yay!) $149.99 shoe by Badgley Mischka

These days, there are weddings shoes for every style & budget...allow me to walk you through some of my favorite finds:

For the beach wedding: bridal flip flops! At $52, comfort can be yours!

Ballet Slippers with a starburst of czech crystals for the romantic:

A fabulous wedge from Hale Bob (I am a wedge them!)

If you recognize these shoes, then you know who Carrie Bradshaw is. And your wedding day won't be complete without them:

...and you will have your 'something' blue, which is all the rage when it comes to shoes. Blue wedding shoes are the it thing at the moment. *I couldn't find a price for these*

If you have no budget to adhere to, and if you love swarovksi crystals, and if bling-bling is your thing, and if today is Wednesday, than you should have a look at these:

$2965 designer: christian louboutin

We have Stewart Weitzman to thank for these:

Finally, here we have a splash of yellow (which I personally love.) If I could re-do my wedding just to wear these yellow shoes, I would. Well, maybe orange...either way, they they would be bright, and fabulous!

Thanks for visiting...let me know the next topic that you would like to see on Wedding Wednesday! I'm here to help, and I just need a reason to purchase another bridal magazine. They are addicting.

{precious pregancy}

(left-click on photo to view it larger)

A sneak peek for Jen & Perry, the very photogenic, soon-to-be parents of baby Asher. I loved snapping these pictures of a couple so in love, during such an exciting time in their lives. Jen was having contractions during our shoot, so it won't be long before baby Asher makes his debut on the blog!

we remember

In lieu of Fashion Friday, I'd like to take a moment and remember the victims, their families, and the heroes of 9-11. You are still in our prayers.

Eight years ago, on 9-11, my baby girl was just 5 days old...she woke me up early that morning so I flipped on the tv, still groggy and hoping to fall back asleep on the couch after feeding her. It was around 6am (pacific time) and Brandon was still sleeping...we were living in a little one bedroom apartment in Las Vegas, excited about having just become parents.

I sat in utter shock as I watched the news, panicked at the thought of bringing a child into this world. Tears wouldn't stop for days after that...having just had baby didn't help control my emotions!.

How about you? Where we you when you got the news of the terrorist attack?

Wedding Wednesday is back!

focus on: Cupcakes!

If you haven't noticed yet, cupcakes are all the rage these days, especially for weddings. I'm not talking about any old cupcakes made from a box and slathered with frosting...I am talking about couture cupcakes--works of art that are hand-crafted by gourmet bakers/artists. Today I bring you a sampling from around the world. Be prepared to be amazed.

First up: Sugarbloom Cupcakes!

Are you in love yet? Sugarbloom is owned by Bev, and located in Perth, Australia. I found her on flickr--I saw a thumbnail of that very first photo above and was instantly intrigued...I got lost browsing her stream. I mean, did you see that black bow and rhinestone buckle? Wow! I will say it!!

Just look at these fabulous floral designs:

Bev is an amazing inspiration for new concepts and super creative ideas...check out her delicious looking "tall" cupcake:

And for the bride & groom that still want to cut the cake, Bev has you covered:

To view more of Bev's beautiful work, check out her website here:

Thank you, Bev for allowing me to show off your work! :)

Next, we travel to Durban, South Africa where the lovely Zahirah is creating gorgeous cupcakes in all of my favorite colors!

Ms. Z's company is called cupcake d'lights and they truly are a delight to look at...I can only imagine how delicious they taste! Her style is whimsical and feminine...she even does shabby chic!

I can imagine how thrilled the bride was that ordered these:

(I wonder if they looked even better than the actual bouquets?!)

Here is a great centerpiece idea:

And a nice, classic design:

You can view more of this edible art here:

Thank you, Zahirah for your permission to post your photos on my blog!

Thank you for reading my Wedding Wednesday post. I hope to have brought you some great ideas and inspiration from these talented artists!

Ever have a day like this?

I have been having lots of days where I hang my head and think of how long my wonderful clients have been waiting for their proofs. Thank you all for your patience and kindess. I am digging out of my editing hole, slowly but surely! I am very optomistic about finishing up a bunch of galleries this week...and I will be in touch asap!

Now, I present: another late-night sneak peek for the very patient, very lovely Kim! I loved spending my morning with you and your family in Punta Gorda. The water shots are my favorite--they are coming soon! Here are a few to start things off:

can't get enough of {their} love
