going green

I am officially one of those people that takes their own bags to the grocery store. I don't know what took us so long to purchase these handy bags--they are only 99 cents, and they eliminate waste! What a no-brianer! I have two so is beige, the other is right here:

I really want a green one, too. Green is my favorite color. SO, back to being GREEN, I encourage you to buy these! I am so relieved that I don't have to save up my plastic bags and then forget to take them to the recycle bin at Publix every time I go shopping! It's very freeing not to have wads of bags around the house because I never could find a place for the growing mass.

I do have one complaint...I wish the bags weren't branded because I really want to take this to Walmart. Why didn't I buy Walmart bags? The Wal-mart bags are $1.50. Gasp! Publix actually has a less expensive item. I am still recovering from the shock.

ps. This post is dedicated to my friend, Julie. The earth saver. And my (only) faithful reader. Thanks for wanting more posts, Julie!

  1. i love the green bags! and i use them at wal-mart and target, too! it's good to be green! green is my fav color too!
i'm a faithful reader too! i'm addicted to reading 'mom' blogs. (blogs of creative, working mom's). :D

  2. She is not your only faithful reader. I too have read every post you've made. :) It's a good way for me to keep up on a small part of what's happening in your life. I miss you girlfriend!

  3. Thank you Stacy!! I love it!! Plastic bags are such a pet peeve of mine. BTW...don't worry about brining Publix bags to Wal-Mart. I do it ALL the time and they have never said, hey, you can't spend your money here if you don't have our bag! :) Oh, and Publix has this really cool frozen food bag that zips on the top. You can put a ton of stuff in that one. My tip is to always keep your bags in your car. As soon as I empty them out I put them right at my door to take them back to the car. Also, in many places I just don't put my purchase in a bag at all and I don’t even have that big of a purse. Luv ya!!!

  4. Stacy....hi!! Shae here-- just thought I'd add to the "don't worry about who's name is on the bag" comments. I use my Grocery Outlet bags at Fred's :) No Biggie!
And here is a cool link to a comany that makes a million different types of reuseable bags-- even freezer bags for frozen foods, and muslin bags for produce!
